Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to use more than three hundreds characters in the description of my character as I always have the warning when I start the game and it ignore a whole lot of the description, or do I need to put it somewhere else ?
If you REALLY want the NPCs to know a bunch of descriptive about your character you can try editing the NPCMemories and adding the information to whichever NPCs and import the new memories back in.
Mind you if you talk to any NPC long enough, old advanced memories eventually get overwritten with new stuff. So make sure to check on it once in a few sessions or you'll have to retype it all out.
I encountered such a problem, when I sell something through the dialogue window, the AI agrees and gives me renamed things instead of money, I sold slime to Rosalyn through the dialogue, she gave me 5 coins not in money, but in the same slime but renamed as 5 coins, are there any ideas about this?<img src="https://img.itch.zone/aW1nLzIyNjQ2OTMzLnBuZw==/original/BfDQI%2B.png">
Anyone know the file pathway to access the default characters? I wanted to grab the already existing models and descriptors and use them for custom characters. I am not savvy enough to make all that myself so I figured I could tweak what was already there... I just cannot find the files.
There isn't a file path to CharacterConfig, dialogue sprite, or directional sprites pngs for the NPCs or playable characters like with the example character. All that data is compressed through Unity and is given to us as a game file only Unity can decompress in the game. Luckily some of the information you are looking for isn't compressed, but is still in a compressed data file.
In the Silverpine_Data folder is a file called, level0. Just open it with notepad++ and you can read what's in it though almost all of it is compressed data. Ctrl+f to search the playable and non playable characters' names and you'll find the descriptions for each eventually. I don't know if this readable description data is the description section of their 'CharcterConfig' file. I'd recommend not editing the file, but it might be what your looking to do if all you want is to change a single starting characters description. Make a back up of the file first if you do.
Creating the directional pngs is easy, if you have the 3d model of your custom character already. If you only have an image, than unfortunately the links in the read me.txt the dev gives to the AI model generator isn't up, though they might be later. So, there isn't much you can do besides searching for another free AI generator for image to 3d model (with textures) online, or find an asset model you can buy/commission, or use for free.
If you can get a 3d model, just open it in 3D Viewer, use the grid & viewer to get the angles and direction right for the shot and use Snipping Tool to take screenshots and save the images. Open in Gimp and remove background and crop, then scale it down to... I believe around 32x32 pixels, and export as .png. Repeat and put them all in your character folder with the correct names.
The default characters don't exist as plain files. I recommend simply using a Unity asset ripping tool if you want to use their assets for a custom character.
I just had an odd softlock happen in which Rosalyn wanted to give me a book and a towel that was in the crate in her house. She took two books from the crate, for some reason, then gave me one and softlocked. I waited a good 5 minutes to be sure before I closed out.
There was only one book, a towel, and a basket in the crate. So, I think she gave herself two books, then tried to give me one book and a towel, but didn't have the towel and froze up. I don't know why that happened, but it could be because I accidentally started a new file on an older version and I just switch to the most recent version before I talked to her.
Sometimes you find the darnest things if you open game files and just read what's readable between all the compressed data. I found tiny bits of lore and learned things. Some of it made me laugh. Like randomly finding "secretly extremely gay" in between compressed data. I wonder which character that could be?
Or finding out one of the NPCs, who I won't name, has "hopelessly high libido". I had no idea they where so hopeless, but it explains the insatiable vibes I was getting. Also, apparently they're a herm, which was a surprise. I somehow missed that if it was obvious.
Also, learned a little about a swampy area. Won't say more in case it spoils an update.
Isolde is a nenergetic Fennec anthro and Aldric is part puma.
Oriana specifically has "extremely large breasts", while Celandine has "very large breasts" in their .json description.
Found something about a Blacksmith and how there isn't one in Silverpine. Which kind of implies the idea for one was there.
I'm mostly just sharing tid bits of interesting info, but let me know if I shouldn't and I'll delete it.
Well Considering that the dev says that this game is pretty much done and that they are working on a new project, I'd say you're all good to share as much as you want.
In lore there is a kingdom, I presume to the south of Vyrndal, called Vraxis, "A southern jungle kingdom populated by anthro raptors." There is also a Swamp, "far south of Silverpine. Not a nice place to be in." And in that swamp Temple. "A strange temple in the swamp. Not much is known about it." I'm not sure if that's a dungeon, but I haven't seen it on the map or I'm blind. I suspect you can ask NPCs about any nearby kingdom and Vraxis might get brought up. (haven't done this yet) If Vraxis is a nearby kingdom, then I further speculate the blacksmith NPC, that doesn't exist, would have been a raptor. I only suspect that because every playable PC and NPC is some kind of carnivore or omnivore. A raptor would fit in.
I think Mirel has two character.json one for when she lives in Thalassar and one for when she's living in Silverpine with %PLAYER_NAME%. Her description is duplicated with subtle changes to where she lives. It says she's, " a well endowed herm kobold", which was a surprise, but I suspected one of the NPCs would be. "Also there was a unique note, <private_split>high libido|hopelessly high libido but tries to keep it contained and to not bother other people with it</private_split>." After looking at the other NPC, none of them have this weird private split note. Just a very interesting tid bit about her. I'll be sure to bring it up next time I play.
The "secretly extremely gay" character is still a mystery as there was no context for it. It could be a character never added, like maybe a Blacksmith NPC that never got added or any of the current 8. No Idea who, but I'd suspect it's Darian only because he's made overtures to my male character at low (25 - 40ish I'd guess) relationship score early. Not sure if that's normal for him as I don't talk to him too often, since I play my character's as a early riser, and wake at 4 or 5AM after he goes to bed, so I don't see him for most of the day.
There is apparently a kitsune statue you can place and use as furniture? I haven't seen one yet, so I can only assume it's a drop in a dungeon or not implemented.
did you guys see that stuff about the payment processors (i.e. Visa and Mastercard) forcing steam and itch.io to pull what they deem as "objectionable" games, like adult content? it made me think about this game. was there any word about this game getting removed?
I don't know the limitations or what goes into this game but I think the option to interject in a conversation would be nice. It would fix the endless chains of nonsense I mentioned in my previous post. Just a way to input a new sentence and redirect the conversation instead of needing to keep pressing continue or leave in order to get things back on track.
I am really enjoying this game but I have noticed that they AI tends to talk in circles creating prolonged rants that just repeat when there are multiple characters. Usually it keeps saying generic stuff like "blank is waiting for a response with suspense" and, "blank is excited to hear what comes next." It tends to repeat variations of these several times per character before it allows me to add any input. It REALLY drags dialog out and makes it feel like the AI is stuck in a loop.
agreed. coupled with the slow transitions between character images, this makes for an incredibly slow interaction. If you've ever tried in dialogue to say that your character walks out and leaves for the night, sometimes the characters will talk to each other for a long time, until the game randomly passes the turn to you finally even tho the last thing you "did" was leave. But if you say nothing, the characters will be like "Oh, Crankshade, are you still here?" One time I plainly wrote "Crankshade is not here" and then they were like "Oh, I thought I heard them. Anyways..." and continue on! lol
May I ask if this game is still being supported or if it's considered complete or something like that? It's just that the updates used to come so frequently and the dev replied to comments more regularly than they seem to right now. It's all good if they're on a break or dealing with other things or whatever. I'm just curious, is all.
Sorry for the late reply. The game is feature complete since March. All the features I initially envisioned are finished, and there's no real way to add more features to the core gameplay without a better 12B-sized LLM, which hasn't happened since most new releases in the past year have been focused on beating math and coding benchmarks instead of general tasks. I'm currently working on a different project.
Hello, dev. Really? You are working in another project? It's a shame, I hope we could see more content from this. But it's fun even with the things it has so far, I hope your next game is as good as this.
Rosalyn is now trying to drug my character whenever they meet, filling my inventory with so many potions I cant move. She has become a total control freak and a complete psychopath. Hayden is now convinced she is trying to steal my character's soul. 10/10 I would play again.
LOL. I had Rosalyn constantly ask me if I wanted cookies, to help her because her back isn't what it use to be , and she'd always called me deary. After a while I got it in my head she was some kind of old witch that knew an eternal youth potion. So I asked her and she said she did and was 93 years old. I believed it until she said she lied. Now she tells me Hayden is her half brother. I'm not sure if I should believe her.
Rosalyn continues to spiral out of control in my game. She keeps giving me 100 stacks of Elixer of Surrender which also ensures that I cannot move until I drop them. I am now also 100% certain that Hayden is correct and that Rosalyn is trying to steal my character's soul. Gareth now also believes that she is practicing dark magic.
After helping Hayden with gathering herbs, the dialogue box said he handed me "a pouch of 50 gold pieces" and what I actually got was 50 "pouches", which in the inventory actually turned out to be potions of glowing worth 5 gold each. I sold 80 gold pieces worth to the shopkeeper, bought a staff of Charm which raised the selling prices by 10%, and then sold the rest of the potions. it was a funny mistake.
This reminds me of one of the first days I started playing I asked Celandine to give me 10 gold once so I could stay at the inn another night, and she just gave me 10 healing potions. I was confused, but didn't ask and sold them all for rent and food money.
During the dialogue with the NPC, there is a chance that two more choices will appear, so that everyone follows you, or someone specific, the question is what trigger or question is needed for them to appear.
generally, it's when you ask them to follow you or the conversation leads to them wanting to follow you, but I think the AI has to interpret that as such in the given circumstance. Because of that, sometimes you get, I guess you could call, "false positives" that NPCs need to follow the player and give you the choice then. Since it's up to the AIs interpretation, I don't know if you can reliably predict when it happens, but if you're reasonably convincing enough, it's not hard to force the options to appear in the first place.
I just got dared to sing a song. So I altered the lyrics a little and said "I kissed a fox, and I liked it..." and some more parts, but the NPC corrected me and said the lyrics go "I kissed a girl" not "fox". DUDE, AI knows pop culture! I laughed at this
I once was talking to Oriana about books (we're both nerds it seems) and I mentioned a series I haven't finished reading that she'd probably like called, A Song of Ice and Fire, and she said she knew of George R. R. Martin's works. That totally surprised me. I didn't expect her to know the author's name already! The AI seems to have access to pop culture. Not sure if it searches it online or not.
I also wanted to ask if there is a way to affect the lore or the world. Such as citizens affected by an illness so the MC can go on a mission to find a cure.
I just got hooked in this game while "bonding" with the snake sisters in the bathhouse. I hope the dev can create a MC that's is a human male so I can sleep with all the female furry and scaly girls in this game.
Thank you, dev, for your hard word. This is the future.
Also, did anyone play this on Linux? I want to pay for the full game but I don't know it if will run "good enough" in Lutris.
Perfect, I tried the full version. Top kino with the snake sisters. That said, I do it in Linux:
flatpak Lutris openSuse Tumbleweed
It runs great, the only problem is that in OpenSuse you need to install another package to give permission on SELinux to be able to Lutris to work properly.
I hope I am able to change my potato laptop for a rig that could run a local model to keep playing this offline.
You can create your own characters. It's not too hard, if you know what your doing.Dev left an example character and a "read me.txt" in the file data that helps explain a bit.
Just to clarify, the custom characters are only for playable characters and not NPCs. Though it would be cool if a 9th NPC was a customizable NPC who also moves into Silverpine and you can write their backstory for the AI to play out.
From casually playin, there are 8 AI NPCs and 4 are female: Oriana, Celandine, Rosalyn, and Mirel. Rosalyn is an herbalist in Silverpine you'll likely see her walking around at some point. Mirel on the other hand is not so obvious. I didn't know she existed until my 4th night when I just happened to see her by the market stall just before midnight. On her days off, she'll come into town and stay the night at Gareth's inn.
As far as I know there's only Silverpine as a town you can explore, plus a few dungeons in the area. There is some lore for a capital to the east called Thalassar. At the moment, it isn't accessible, so ignore any invitations or requests to go there to visit, fetch, or deliver anything.
Hey thanks, you just answered the questions at had in mind. I just need to find Mirel, I never catch her, all people say midnight but it looks like she is BEFORE midnight. When are her days off? I still cannot track time properly, lol.
And about the capital, what a shame but it's understandable considered this game is more of a proof of concept than a full fledged game. It's still fun as fun to play though.
I will try in the future to get a better videocard to play this without the online server and I alsoeneed to learn more about LLMs.
Yeah, a come mistake. I told myself midnight at first, also. Mirel arrives while it's still 11pm, then leaves at midnight. I never bothered to learn her schedule since I was too busy wooing the other 3 girls at the same time like a proper degenerate. I think I remember seeing her at Gareth's a day off after I found her, so my assumption is every 5 days, but it could be something else.
Isn't there a setting that appeared on initial load that let you decide how strict or loosey goosey the AI was going to be? I can't find it. I remember selecting something that was called "chaos" or something crazy like that. I want to change it. I can't find it anywhere anymore! am I crazy?
After spending time with it more, I do have a request. Is it possible to have the json files for the default characters editable like the custom avatar?
This is the first time I've personally seen AI used like this, I think you have some really interesting here!
My only complaint thus far is that every character keeps asking me what I'm doing in Silverpine, despite having answered that question many times already. It's the only kind of small talk the AI knows how to make, apparently.
Does anyone know what all these settings do? Like in the ReadMe.txt file for the Gemma things, what do the "temperatures" mean? Repetition penalty? And context length? All those settings. Is there anything you can experiment with to test the game and the AIs limitations? There's gotta be a more thorough instruction manual.
These are model specific parameters for the backend and shouldn't be touched, unless you know what you're doing and wish to add support for a custom model.
I have a bug, Hayden constantly follows me, although the inscription (following you) did not appear above him, even after a dialogue with him, he continues to follow me and moving from location to location does not help
If you are being followed and leave the tile (go outside the town far enough that you load into the next loaded map area) and then return, they should no longer be following you.
The readme file says to avoid any descriptions that are not visual for custom characters. Here is what happens when you don't follow that instruction:
"Now, enough about Darian. How about we discuss something more pleasant? Like those delicious-looking wings of yours? They're simply enchanting! Do they taste as good as they look?" ~Rosalyn
They're not chicken wings, Roz!! I'll just take that part out...
well I don't know, I didn't have any problems, even in scenes where more than three characters participated there were no problems, maybe you should reconsider the wording in which you describe the visualization (I hope I explained it clearly since I am communicating through a translator :3)
how to take money from NPC? I completed the task and they told me that my reward is 250 gold coins, I played out this situation in the dialogue that my character takes money, but the amount of my money did not change, how to avoid such situations?
They have to give it to you. The only way to even remotely"take", is to sell items via Trade when NPC's store is open.
Receiving money/gold for services or haggled goods has been my biggest issue as well. It works, but not reliably. Personally, I've found the inconsistency not worth the hassle and just sell ores and herbs I collect.
The market. I believe it's the Thalassar market, which is the name of the capital to the east. Mirel is the one who hauls it over every night around 12pm.
When you first start a new game and spawn in you should start near a crate and market stall by the road. Clicking on the stall shows the price you can sell to the market for the day and the crate lets you deposit the items you want to sell. Payment is received over one or more days at 6 AM via aerial delivery.
Oh man, I got the two sisters of the bathhouse (still weirded out by that) to talk together, and the dynamic of the two is really interesting when you get the bar raised on Celandine but are still strangers with Oriana. It makes it way more interesting of dialogue when someone is resistant to dialogue and is too mistrusting of the player and scolds her sister, while the other is playful and teases her for being a "stick in the mud" and you see how they have this back and forth dynamic and realize that this is how they are as siblings. It's really fun to watch. Did anyone else get this kind of interaction?
But I have learned that when multiple NPCs take turns talking, the transitions between them is way too slow. Can we speed that up?
Yeah, I noticed those two have a good rapport with each other. I once had Celandine and Oriana talk to me, but interrupting each other for like 10 to 12 exchanges before I got to reply to anything. If you think their "sibling bond" is weird, you should check the bathhouse's top private room around 6pm to 7pm, I found that out recently and laughed, though I'm not sure if it's daily or once in a while.
Anyway, the group conversation thing, was a surprise to me also when I found out. It's not obvious until you happen to have two NPCs, near each other and try talking to one. You can have them all follow you also and get more NPCs involved in your conversation. I've had up to 4 NPC's talking to me at the same time. Interesting to watch them interact with each other, but it's difficult to remember what everyone said and address everything before you get to replay.
I'm realizing that I don't know what the game expects of me for some things. I was tasked with fixing a leaky roof in the rain, and now I don't know how to do that. also, using an umbrella handed to me, a number flashed by quickly but I don't know what it was for. That should be slower, and maybe there should be a log showing what's been happening. yes, a log of the events, including what the AI thinks you're supposed to be doing.
The leaky roof sounds like the ai coming up with an objective that is roleplay oriented, in which you would choose how you would prefer it to be completed, via a brief description, an entire back to back conversation with another npc(tea breaks included) or you could choose to ignore it altogether
I have noticed that I can direct the results of things. It was weird the first set of tasks I was given, and I went back to see if the NPC could direct me to the leak spot, but they just basically said good job, and then didn't mention the other tasks. I had ask about the other tasks and they said oh don't worry about those, have some tea and dry off! lol
There is the NPC memories. You can export them in the settings in game and open it to read it. It only has recent player conversation, a list of events the AI considers memorable, and player’s relationship score for every NPC. The remembered events of an NPC can help you figure out why an NPC might be thinking or saying something, because they do talk to each other once in a while.
Also, I don't believe there is a real umbrella in the game. Though there totally should be one that stops wet on clothes. You likely got a food or drink item named, "Umbrella" as a courtesy since it was raining and when you "used" it you ate or drank the item and the number you saw was the recovered amount.
I got a water skin like that.
I found that trying to refer to the AI directly doesn't work. I tried asking the AI in the middle of dialogue, "Hey, AI, can you give me a lute so I can be a musician?" and instead the NPCs respond and say there may be a lute at the store or somewhere else. Could there be a menu item to let me refer to the AI directly? I imagine the AI isn't designed to handle that the way it's set up here, tho.
I’ve never seen the AI break character except when the LLM isn’t responding. I don’t think the AI will acknowledge it’s an AI. I believe you can ask most NPCs for items, though Aldric is the purveyor for requested items. He won’t always, but I’ve been able to get him to give me stuff he has on him and stuff he doesn’t have on him once in a while. You can also ask for an item with a name if you ask the question right. EG: Do you have a book named Karma Sutra? He didn’t but gave it to me anyway.
I have a couple of requests, if they can be implemented. Can you make it so if the NPCs imply that they will lead the way, you can select a choice to let them drag you where they want? Can you also make it so tapping space or E let's me progress the dialogue where it's just the NPCs talking and not prompting me for a response (i.e. whenever the continue button shows up)? Not only that, but I also have to click the text box to start typing whenever I do get to talk (EDIT: I learned that pressing space bar USUALLY starts typing in the text box). This should be automatically focused on by my keyboard as soon as it comes up. I've also been having problems with movement, where a lot of times my character doesn't move unless I repeatedly tap the direction I'm trying to go.
Dude, I think you got an untapped goldmine with this game. I know this game has some sexual implications definitely intended with it's exaggerated character features and is likely meant to attract a certain audience and some people wouldn't take such a game seriously, but that aside, you got a crazy intriguing concept here. I really want to see where this game goes.
Found this post on reddit about glm-4 , one of the comments mentions a fix, not sure if its related to the issue upstream but thought dev might find that comment on it useful
Generation works until a certain total amount of tokens have been processed, then it starts producing broken outputs regardless of the size of the inputs. It also produces CUDA errors that crash the backend randomly.

Can you make building less time consuming? or at the very least less grindy? making money in game is hard as is even with the relaxed mode.
Hi, I would like to ask if it is possible to use more than three hundreds characters in the description of my character as I always have the warning when I start the game and it ignore a whole lot of the description, or do I need to put it somewhere else ?
Sorry if you already have answered this question
LLM context is very valuable/limited, so there's a hard cap on the character description in order to not have to compromise in other places.
Thank you for your answer

This is the AI being unreliable, but I'll think of a fix.

Look a few comments down. they're replying to someone else called Jeetum-Tei, asking about if the game is still being development.

Anyways..." and continue on! lol
hey hope you doing well, thank you for this game.😉
I was confused, but didn't ask and sold them all for rent and food money.
generally, it's when you ask them to follow you or the conversation leads to them wanting to follow you, but I think the AI has to interpret that as such in the given circumstance.
This game is quite amazing. I was wondering if you have a roadmap for it, I've love to see what you've got planned for the future!
That said, I do it in Linux:
flatpak Lutris
openSuse Tumbleweed
It runs great, the only problem is that in OpenSuse you need to install another package to give permission on SELinux to be able to Lutris to work properly.
I hope I am able to change my potato laptop for a rig that could run a local model to keep playing this offline.
Thanks to the dev, great game.
Oriana and Celandine are definitely a favorite.
You can create your own characters. It's not too hard, if you know what your doing.Dev left an example character and a "read me.txt" in the file data that helps explain a bit.
What, really? I will check it out! I hope, I am able to make a human, for immersion. BTW, are there any other females in the starter town?
I think I remember seeing her at Gareth's a day off after I found her, so my assumption is every 5 days, but it could be something else.
how to not just say something, but do something in a dialog box?
(как не просто сказать что то, а сделать что то в диалоговом окне?)
Use *MC does smth* in dialogue
Finally got the new Graphics card, excited to see how the game has changed in the last couple of months!
Can you add actions or generate dialogue pictures?
Can i use 2 gpu's to reach above 24g vram for the biggest model?
It's theoretically possible, but there are no viable models/improvements beyond 24 gb.
If you are being followed and leave the tile (go outside the town far enough that you load into the next loaded map area) and then return, they should no longer be following you.
this bug went away on its own, but thanks for the information
The readme file says to avoid any descriptions that are not visual for custom characters. Here is what happens when you don't follow that instruction:
"Now, enough about Darian. How about we discuss something more pleasant? Like those delicious-looking wings of yours? They're simply enchanting! Do they taste as good as they look?"
~Rosalyn
They're not chicken wings, Roz!! I'll just take that part out...
well I don't know, I didn't have any problems, even in scenes where more than three characters participated there were no problems, maybe you should reconsider the wording in which you describe the visualization (I hope I explained it clearly since I am communicating through a translator :3)
Rosalyn gave me her cloak because I had no pants and it was cold.
But because it's a gift from Rosalyn, the cloak is a cup of tea that can be drunk. That is so funny
how to take money from NPC? I completed the task and they told me that my reward is 250 gold coins, I played out this situation in the dialogue that my character takes money, but the amount of my money did not change, how to avoid such situations?
They have to give it to you. The only way to even remotely"take", is to sell items via Trade when NPC's store is open.
Receiving money/gold for services or haggled goods has been my biggest issue as well. It works, but not reliably. Personally, I've found the inconsistency not worth the hassle and just sell ores and herbs I collect.
Still, like the game a lot though.
and who do you sell ores and herbs to? no matter who I approach, no one buys from me either drops from monsters or ores and herbs
Payment is received over one or more days at 6 AM via aerial delivery.
got it, thanks for your help)
Interesting, I wish I tried to use the umbrella.
Also, in the interest of security, can anyone attest to the safety of running the downloaded game? Windows freaks out about it.
Ive played it many times and had no issues
I know
this game has some sexual implicationsdefinitely intended with it's exaggerated character features and is likely meant to attract a certain audience and some people wouldn't take such a game seriously, but that aside, you got a crazy intriguing concept here. I really want to see where this game goes.Found this post on reddit about glm-4 , one of the comments mentions a fix, not sure if its related to the issue upstream but thought dev might find that comment on it useful
https://www.reddit.com/r/LocalLLaMA/s/EuJuF0LSeK
1.0.7 already utilized all of those fixes, including the ones talked about here: https://github.com/ggml-org/llama.cpp/issues/12946
Generation works until a certain total amount of tokens have been processed, then it starts producing broken outputs regardless of the size of the inputs. It also produces CUDA errors that crash the backend randomly.
